Welcome to CotilloHolidays.com.  We have a selection of holiday apartments to rent at exceptionally competitive rates, something to suit every pocket.   We offer a personal, one to one service and our aim is to ensure that your holiday here is a thoroughly enjoyable experience, one that you will want to repeat!

If wild night life is your idea of a good holiday then exit now, Cotillo is not the place for you; but if you crave peace, tranquillity and relaxation then please read on. 

Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands, but the least developed.  Situated on the same latitude as Florida and Mexico and only 100 kms from Morocco, it basks in 3000 hours of sunshine per year.  It has the best beaches of all the Canary Islands, 150 in total, and unlike the other islands most of the beaches are of fine golden sand.  Indeed the beaches here are considered to be among the best in the world.

The island is a mecca for water sport enthusiasts and the world wind surfing championships are held here every year. 

There are three main tourist areas: Jandia in the south is predominantly a German resort; Caleta de Fuste on the east coast near the airport is a purpose built tourist area and Corralejo in the north is a rapidly expanding tourist resort complete with water park and local market. 

Twelve miles from Corralejo on the west coast you will find El Cotillo.

El Cotillo

The perfect destination for those looking for a quiet peaceful holiday.  If tranquillity is your requirement then Cotillo is the place for you.  Fuerteventura has an abundance of white sandy beaches and El Cotillo has some of the best.

A short walk to the north of the village lie the famous lagoon beaches, perfect for swimming and very safe.  To the south lies the Playa del Castillo, 2 kms long and used mainly for water sports, surfing, kite-surfing, wind-surfing etc.  Further to the south lie the beaches of Playa del Ajibe and Playa del Aguila, both wild and remote.  This area is truly the surfing and wind-surfing mecca of the island.

El Cotillo is still a working fishing village and the local boats land most of their catch directly to the local restaurants, so you are guaranteed fresh fish!

The village has a great selection of restaurants, with something to suit every taste and budget.  There are numerous Spanish bars and a couple of English speaking bars including The Puerto Nuevo and Arenas Blancas.

Surfing equipment and bicycles are available to rent locally.

The Apartments/Rates

All our apartments are centrally located so are within a few minutes walk of bars, restaurants and shops.  Most of the apartments have been furnished and equipped by their individual owners as their second homes, so they offer a higher than normal standard of holiday accommodation.  A number of the apartments have private roof terraces - perfect for the shyer naturist!  Satellite TV has also recently been installed in a number of our apartments.

Apartments are available on a weekly or monthly basis.  Weekly rates are from €210 to €350, based on 1 week’s occupancy for 2 people.  Our rates are fixed on a year round basis.  Discounts may be available for stays over 2 weeks.  We do not charge seasonal supplements. Linen & towels are provided.   Towels are changed twice weekly and linen once.

B&B and Half Board Options

If you wish to relax and enjoy your holiday to the full, why not avail of our B&B or half board options?  We can offer breakfast at an extra €35 per week or half board (breakfast plus two course evening meal) at €120 per week.

These options are available in association with the Puerto Nuevo Restaurant.  A full breakfast and evening menu is available along with daily specials.  Picnic lunches for the beach can also be made to order.  See a sample menu at their website:

2 Centre Holiday Option

Perhaps you have thought of holidaying in El Cotillo but aren't sure if you could handle all that peace and tranquility for 2 whole weeks? Why not try a 2 centre holiday?  Spend one week in any of our apartments in El Cotillo and a second in Casa Louisa in Corralejo.

Getting Here

El Cotillo is about 45 kms from the airport.  Hiring a car is not essential, but if you do we can send you directions.  Alternatively we can arrange airport transfers at very reasonable rates, please contact us for details.

Flight Information

From the UK there are charter flights with Thomas Cook, Thomson's First Choice from most major airports.

Ryanair flights from Bournmouth, East Midlands, Liverpool, Stansted and

             GlasgowPrestwick

Kiss Airlines from both Manchester & Gatwick.

Easyjet  direct flights from Liverpool on Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays and from Stanstead on Wednesday and Saturdays.

Monarch direct flights from Birmingham, Gatwick, Luton and Manchester

Palmair  flights from Bournmouth and Exeter

From Ireland

Aer Lingus scheduled flights Tuesday & Saturday from Dublin

Ryanair  also Tuesday & Saturday form Dublin (start April 2010)

4. Ryanair or Aer Lingus to the UK to connect with either Easyjet or Monarch flights.

    This option works well with Easyjet  through Liverpool for the outward journey

    and Stanstead for the return  - from both Dublin and Shannon, and

    through Manchester for the Monarch flights.

5. Ryanair or Aer Lingus to Madrid then Easyjet, Iberia, AirEuropa or Spanair to    

    Fuerteventura.  Easyjet does not work on the return without an overnight in

    Madrid. 

6.  Aer Lingus from Dublin, Belfast  and Cork to Lanzarote to connect with the ferry -

     will probably mean an overnight in Playa Blanca on the outward journey.

7.  Aer Lingus or Ryanair to a major UK airport to connect with a charter flight.

8.  Aer Lingus to Gran Canaria then to Fuerteventura with either Binter or Islas
